The Knights, asked to bat first, started briskly through Bagee Gopal (13 off 7), but his dismissal triggered a collapse. Despite quick contributions from Jazz (15) and Nidheesh Raju (25 off 27), the innings never gained momentum. The middle order crumbled against disciplined bowling, and wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Their innings closed at 107 all out in 18.2 overs, with 16 wides inflating the total.

The Rangers’ bowlers shared the spoils effectively. Shamnad Ashraf (4/21) was the destroyer-in-chief, striking early and returning in the middle overs to dismantle the Knights. Thahir Muhammed (3/15) provided excellent support with his left-arm seam, while Saheer Mohammed (2/19) chipped in at the back end. Together, they never allowed the Knights to form partnerships, restricting them to a below-par score.

Chasing 108, the Rangers lost quick wickets. Santhosh Varghese struck a rapid 12 before falling, while opener Devnath (8) and Arjun JK (26 off 28) were also dismissed inside the first 11 overs. At 71/5, the chase briefly looked tense. However, skipper Thahir Muhammed (45 not out from 38 balls) stood firm. Mixing patience with power, he struck five fours and a six, marshalling the innings with maturity. Supported by Pranil Khadtale (7 not out), Thahir saw his side home in 15.3 overs at 108/5.

For the Knights, Kapil Singh (2/30) and Shiyad Meleveetill (2/23) bowled well, but the low total gave them little room for error. Ultimately, the lack of depth in their batting lineup cost them the contest.
