Under lights on September 28th, the contest showcased calculated stroke play, sharp fielding, and relentless bowling as Kannur hunted down Mumbai’s modest total in just 12.1 overs.
Majestic Mumbai Rangers, after electing to bat, stumbled to 120 all out in 19.2 overs. The innings began shakily with Santhosh Varghese and Devnath falling inside three overs, leaving Mumbai gasping at 12 for 2. Rehan Sajith, however, stood tall amidst the collapse. His fluent 59 off 45 balls, decorated with seven boundaries and two sixes, provided Mumbai with some momentum. His fearless stroke play, marked by four boundaries and a towering six, set the tone. The real fireworks came from Vishnu S, who remained unbeaten on 52 off 29 balls, striking six crisp fours and two sixes. He played with authority, turning the run chase into a mere formality. Jishnu Sunil Kumar chipped in with a lively 26 off 18, keeping the momentum alive before falling near the finish line. Arun Jose’s cameo sealed the deal as Kannur romped home in just over 12 overs, underlining their dominance in every department.
