KCC Kanhangad Bulls held their nerve to secure a thrilling eight-run win over Kochi Kingsmen in the Tranquil Developers You Selects IPL 2025 (Exhibition) at DCS You Selects Arena 2. Powered by Saeed Chithari’s all-round display and disciplined bowling spells in the middle overs, the Bulls defended 201 in a contest packed with drama and big hitting.

Batting first, the Bulls were aggressive from the outset. Opener Shafeeque CB set the tone with a brilliant 65 off 41 deliveries, striking seven fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 158. His partnership with Saeed Chithari laid the foundation for a commanding total. Contributions came down the order, with key cameos ensuring the Bulls reached a formidable 201 all out in 19.4 overs.

Kochi Kingsmen, however, were not to be outdone. Their chase began with intent as Nijin Antony (36 off 19) launched a counterattack. Skipper Arjun K Ramesh kept the innings alive with a crucial 29 off 22 balls, but wickets at regular intervals prevented the Kingsmen from stitching a match-winning partnership. The lower order fought valiantly, taking the game deep, but fell short at 193/9 in 20 overs.

The Bulls’ bowlers delivered when it mattered most. Mansoor (3/34) led the attack with wickets in the middle overs, while Saeed Chithari chipped in with two crucial scalps. Tight death bowling restricted the Kingsmen’s late charge, sealing an eight-run victory in front of a lively crowd.

This win underlined Kanhangad Bulls’ balance across departments.
